ASAEL
T. SORENSEN
Asael T. Sorensen, M.B.A., J.D.,
CPM, is a Senior Associate and co-founder of Alta
Seminars. He has served as General Counsel for Covol
Technologies, Inc., a resource recovery company. He is a
practicing attorney specializing in the Uniform
Commercial Code and commercial transactions.
Mr. Sorensen has many years of
experience as a contract negotiator, offering educational
and consulting services to the purchasing profession. He
has developed and taught numerous purchasing related
courses and workshops for the National Association of
Purchasing Managers (NAPM), business colleges, and other
organizations. These topics include quantitative methods,
purchasing audits, and C.P.M. exam preparation, in
addition to the legal aspects of buying and selling. He is
an expert in the development of contract management
systems and assists corporate clients negotiating with
vendors.
Mr. Sorensen obtained a joint
degree in law and business administration (J.D. and M.B.A.).
He is a Certified Purchasing Manager. He is a member of
the Utah and American Bar Associations and has served as
Chairman of the Young Lawyer's Law-Related Education
Committee and Chairman of the Legal Economics Committee
of the Utah Bar Association.
F. ELGIN WARD
F. Elgin Ward, BA, JD, is a
Senior Associate and co-founder of Alta Seminars and is a
practicing attorney with emphasis in corporate law,
contracts, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) transactions,
real estate, and other areas of commercial business law,
in sales and property tax, and in estate planning. He is
a member of the Utah, has served as panelist and
arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association, and
served for 15 years as a Board Member of a Credit Union,
including several terms as Chairman of the Board.
He has more than twenty (20)
years of experience as a Contract Negotiator, and has
negotiated, drafted and reviewed hundreds of contracts,
including agreements for the purchase or sale of
equipment, materials, computer hardware and software,
construction and maintenance services, electric power,
and the acquisition of real estate. Mr. Ward has also
successfully represented clients in contract, tax,
mechanic's lien and other commercial transaction disputes
before federal and state courts and administrative
agencies in Utah.
Mr. Ward has developed and
taught numerous workshops and training seminars on the
drafting and use of contracts, purchase orders, and
performance and payment bonds, as well as seminars on
corporate law and estate planning.
